Our new build Jack Up Barge Jana 501, currently under construction in North China, has successfully completed sea trials.
This self-propelled unit is a custom-designed vessel for the offshore energy industry in the region. The ASD propulsion system, driven by 2 × 2,000 kW electric motors, and the proven CTW design enabled Jana 501 to register a maximum trial speed of 8.4 knots in the testing winter weather conditions of the Bohai Sea.
This excellent speed is remarkable for a barge of 92-meter LOA and 40-meter beam, fitted with 4 × 97-meter legs and 2 × 190T/20-ton cranes.
Various other tests conducted during the sea trials returned excellent results, confirming that all 136 persons on board will experience the highest levels of comfort.
Jana 501 has now returned to the shipyard for additional installations and finishing works, with delivery scheduled for February 2019. We look forward to welcoming this impressive new addition to our fleet.
